For the Love Of or FTLO is a creative community and platform to showcase talent, both upcoming & established, via events, exhibitions, workshops and networking opportunities in one accessible and contemporary environment.
For their latest exhibition FTLO: NY, For The Love Of brought their exhibition magic to the Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn, New York with a brief centred around the city that never sleeps. Over forty creatives from all around the world were selected to exhibit. Encompassing many styles and genres of creativity, the works selected for the show displayed the diverse eclecticism that makes up the great city of New York. This exhibition included; painting, illustration, photography, graphic design, typography, printmaking, scrimshaw, taxidermy and jewellery.
My piece is based on a quote by Tom Wolfe and was a direct response to how I felt when I first arrived in New York City some years ago using a photograph I had taken in Manhattan as the background.
